UNICAL graduate awaiting NYSC killed by cooking gas explosion

A UNICAL graduate identified as Mildred Amadi who was awaiting her service year, was reportedly killed by a cooking gas explosion.

The UNICAL Computer Science graduate who died this morning after the cooking gas explosion which occurred on the 27th of December, 2018, was meant to go for her NYSC in March, 2019.

The deceased was said to have gone to braid her hair at a multipurpose hall in Rukpokwu Rumuiwechiorlu, Port Harcourt, Rivers state. It was gathered that a boy was said to have turned on a camp gas and stepped out to get a lighter. The boy who was warned against lighting the camp gas upon his return, went on with it which resulted in an explosion which occurred shortly after.

Mildred who was badly burnt in the explosion, was reportedly rushed to Bridgestone Hospital, Rukpokwu, Port Harcourt, where she died this morning. Sources disclosed that the UNICAL graduate who was killed by the cooking gas explosion is the only daughter of her mom, and never wanted to make her hair but was persuaded to by her mom.

This is coming few months after a 21-year-old final year student of University of Calabar (UNICAL), Joseph Ita Archibong was killed by armed robbers during an attack on his family in Calabar.
