‘I started raping children after my girlfriend left me’ -Arrested Suspect

20-year-old Abdullateef Ibrahim who was arrested by the Niger State Police Command for reportedly raping a 5-year-old girl, dropped a mind boggling confession.

Ibrahim who reportedly confessed to committing the said crime, told newsmen that he started raping little girls after his girlfriend left him.

The State Police Command PRO Muhammad Abubakar, who confirmed the rape, disclosed that the little rape victim has been taken to General Hospital, Magama, for treatment.

According to the Police, the arrested suspect who has been perpetrating the ugly act for over two years, dragged his victim who was running an errand for her mother to an isolated area in the bush, and had sex with her.

Punch reports that Ibrahim also revealed that he had forcefully had carnal knowledge of more than six underage girls in the community.

“ Since my girlfriend left , I have been in the act and I enjoyed doing it, but at times I will ask myself ‘ why am I into this mess and the urge still continues ?’

It is quite unfortunate that I found myself in this hopeless predicament. He begged for forgiveness and advised other youths to shun “ the wicked act that may mar their future” he said.

Recall that few months ago, an arrested 32-year-old rape suspect, Ayuba Salihu, told the Niger State Child Right Protection Agency how he lured and sexually abused an eight-year-old pupil with N100.

Mr. Salihu, a tailor and resident of New Market, near Gwari Market in Chanchaga Local Government Area, admitted he raped the minor.

“I saw her in front of my shop crying that she misplaced N100 out of the money she sold from pure water and I gave her the N100.

“The following time I saw her hawking, I called her to buy water but the devil lured me into the act.

“I am sorry to have engaged in such an act with a little girl, I promise never to repeat such act again, please forgive me,” Mr. Salihu pleaded with the agency.
